Iranian women struggles in achieving social equality

Over the course of history there has been an increase in women inequality specifically in Iran. The past few days we were able to see examples of Iran’s struggle with gender equality. I’d like an opportunity to speak on their behalf, discussing possible ways to allow women to have an equal say in the Iranian society. A few ways we can allow that to happen include, giving Iranian women a few political positions so that the government has the perspective of a women when implementing new ideas or amending old laws. Allowing formation of women organizations that look after one another in times of need which might include escaping abusive relationships, financial assistance with family necessities, representing political issues to the government or administrations, confronting workplaces that exploit them. Recently there has been a debate about Iranian females having a limited voice in society. One incident that occurred recently, is about a girl who was denied entrance into a stadium to watch a football match due to her gender. She was later caught disguised as a man and punished by a life imprisonment, she opposed this by committing suicide in front of the courthouse. International criticism towards the Iranian government regarding this situation which puts them under pressure to give women more rights. Apart from the news there is also the fact that women of Iran have been struggling with abuse from their spouse and in the workplace. They were being exploited and suppressed in all ways. With nowhere to go and no option to fight back, they had nothing to do but withstand constant abuse. Overall, my solution would allow women to lead a more successful and safer life in Iran, problems regarding gender equality might not disappear but significant change will take place.
